Ronnie Muhl is an adventurer, author, athlete, filmmaker, businessman and inspiring speaker who speaks both locally and internationally. He is also an entrepreneur, who successfully manages three businesses.
Speaker
As a speaker, he presents to audiences around the country at least twice a week and has had the opportunity of being invited to speak in India, Singapore, Philippines, England, the USA and Canada. He is a founding member of the Professional Speakers Association of South Africa (PSASA).
Adventurer
Ronnie has been an adventurer all his life and in 2006 he spent two months on the North Face of Everest, unsuccessful in his bid to become the 10th South African to stand on her summit. He returned to the mountain in 2007 and on 23 May, fulfilled his dream by becoming the 7th South African to summit via the North-east Ridge – this time as leader of the first successful South African team to the North side of Everest in which three out of four climbers summited.
Athlete
As an athlete, he has run over 100 marathons and has a number of top 10 positions to his credit. He has run 20 Two Oceans Marathons, with a best place of 30th in 3 hrs 34 mins. He has also run 11 Comrades’. His best is 91st in a time of 6 hrs 25 mins. In 2001, he won the South African Masters Marathon Championships for his age group.
Filmmaker
Ronnie has produced a total of five mountain documentaries. His latest documentary follows his successful summit of Mt Everest in 2007. This dramatic production contains unique footage high in the Death Zone in one of the most inhospitable and beautiful places on our planet.
Author
As an author Ronnie has written two books. Inspiration: a treasury of wisdom to help you live an authentic and inspired life, his first book, was published in 2006. His second book Everest Surviving the Death Zone was published in 2008 and is the gripping story of his tears and triumphs on Mt Everest in 2006 and 2007.
Businessman
He has run his own financial planning practice since 1982. He is a life and qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table and for the last four years has qualified for the Top of the Table, which places him in the top 1% of the top 6% of all financial services intermediaries in the world. He is currently serving on the Business Advisors Structure Committee of MDRT, having previously served on the Ethics Committee, the Practice Management Committee and on the International Management Council as the Zone Chair for Southern Africa.
Most Importantly
Ronnie has been married since 1982 and has three wonderful children. He is constantly striving to be a better husband, father, and overall a more enlightened, fun-loving and joyful human being. |
